Coming soon from Macedonia Films: John Gray. Currently a short film, John Grey is a rousing narrative about the life of someone apparently named John Gray. While laboring over his postcards, John loses sight of his wife’s needs and she leaves him. Then all of these crazy blokes show up and start clobbering the poor man with cabbages. Shot in beautiful Memphis, Tennessee, John Gray is sure to impress when later made into a feature length film.

For a second year, I was invited to MidSouthCon in Memphis, TN (www.midsouthcon.org.)  I had a marvelous time presenting and being part of panels on electronics, costuming, and puppetry.  Of course I brought back my radio-controlled airship, this time with a stylish green balloon.

I’ve also been invited to the Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention this October (www.memphiscfc.com.) I plan on presenting educational panels there as well, continuing with my theme of incorporating science and technology into costuming.

I’ve been quite busy over the last few months and am proud to say that soon updates will be coming from my new workshop, Kilgore Laboratories: Greenbrier Station! It will be the largest shop I’ve had so far and hopefully will lend itself to many exciting new projects. Thanks for your continued support and interest.

Ghoulson is a scarecrow built for the Huntsville Ghost Walk to compete in the Huntsville Botanical Garden’s “Scarecrow Trail.” His eyelids blink by the way of a Pololu Micro Maestro servo controller paired with a high torque servo motor.  His eyes also glow a ghastly blue when not in direct sunlight.

This year I was invited to MidSouthCon 28 as a panelist for their Science & Technology track.  I took the opportunity to unveil one of my latest secret projects.  My  radio controlled airship appeared to win the hearts of young and old alike, as it buzzed around the ceilings of the convention.  After obtaining flight clearance from convention security,  my only obstacles were air conditioning vents and the occasional tall con-goer.  I’ll update soon with more detailed pictures and technical information on my design.

This is a photo album I made as  a gift for my girlfriend Leslie’s birthday. Materials are fiberboard, wood, muslin, paint, and binding hardware that I copper plated in a CuSO4 solution. Clear pages hold 8 1/2″ x  11″ parchment paper for easy reorganization and printing.
